Feeling light

After a very long time, I'm feeling very very very light at heart. I don't really know why I'm feeling that way. I'm also surprised about the fact that it's lasting for such a long time. Normally all the happiness and sadness in my life will be short lived. I don't know the reason for this anomaly. I feel good and I want to feel this way for a long time to come.

Is it fair?

When a formula one car speeds past you, you'll admire the talent of the driver. When the same driver drives a normal car in the streets at the same speed, you'll be calling him a maniac. Now, the driver in both the cases is the same. The location where he drives has changed. When you expect the same person to act differently in two different places, how is it possible for a person to be the same throughout his life? Is it fair on the part of us to expect a person to remain the same till his death?

decider?

Today's match pitting India and Australia is a deciding match for the number one rank in the ICC rankings. As of now, only one point seperates the two teams. Australia are ahead of India by just one point. Today's result will prove to be the decider as the winners go to the number one rank. Will there be a new number one team in cricket? I can't wait to find out.

It's raining cats and dogs

It's poring down heavily today. I've experienced the old saying raining cats and dogs today. I'm already late for office and looking at the way it's been raining, I don't think it'll stop anytime soon. So, I guess I'll have to bunk office today. Take a day off and get a good sleep. All that of course only if the rain doesn't stop poring down.

Water

Daily, we see or hear some news related to the discovery of water on some planet in this solar system, neighbouring solar system etc. But, the sad fact is no one is really concerned about the water that we have on this planet. If we keep exploiting our natural resources at this rate, we'll all become extinct. Don't search for something that is not a guaranteed entity in the future. Try to protect what is already at hand. Save water.

Remembering a legend

It's exactly one year after the retirement of anil kumble from cricket. It was day 5 of the third test match between India and Australia in the Border Gavaskar trophy his day last year. It was during the afternoon session that the news about Anil Kumble's retirement was revealed to the public. His retirement actually came as a surprise to many. No one really expected Kumble to call it quits. Kumble received a great farewell(a much deserved one). Kumble is India's leading wicket taker in tests and is the third leading wicket taker in the world. Kumble illustrious career lasted eighteen years and ended on a high. I dedicate this post to one of the great servants of Indian cricket.

Brilliant!

Inglorious Basterds is a dark and violent comic fantasy and gloriously so. Tarantino doesn't care if he offends, if he oversteps stereotypes and cliches. This is film making at it best. Tarantino is also able to give us a picture of the entire war, showing us not only British, American and German soldiers, but also giving us glimpses into the world of French and German civilians, both collaborators and Resistance. To put the Inglorious basterds in a nutshell, it is a fantasy that re-arranges some controversial historical points. Films critics have literally run out of superlatives for this movie. Tarantino is back and is back with a bang. For those of you who are QT fans, go see this movie! Even otherwise, this movie is a must watch. :)
