Theatre Art is a very old form of performing art. It is performed in English as well as in many regional languages like hindi, english, marathi, gujarati, punjabi and many more. It is excellent form of art and it blooms out the actor within the artist.

Today evening i went for a theatre performance by my classmate. He was performing for his Theatre institution. The performance was at NGMA Churchgate. This is the first time in my life that i had been for a theatre performance. I was really amazed by the talent and dedication these actors have. There were 2 plays. The 1st play was about a school story and the 2nd play was about a ghost story. The actors were simply awesome. Maximum of the actors were young guys and girls, teenagers and some elders. They acted the plays extraordinarily and conveyed the message in the story very strongly. The plays had a lot of humour in them and was also serious at a lot of times. It is was clear blend of humour and story. The show was organised very well and was well conducted with a lot of discipline and entertainment.

It is very sad to realise that theatre art is dying day by day. According to me, the art really deserves to get a lot more popularity and encouragement for the efforts the artists take to make it such a great show.

The FIFA World Cup fever is back again with a bang this year - a tournament any football player would give his life for. Football is like a religion.

My brother is a live example of a die hard football fan. He was down with jaundice just last week and he still has to take rest at home. My brother watches all the 3 matches in a day. He is so crazy about football that he goes to sleep by 10.30 wakes up by 12am to watch the next match even though he is not well.

The 'Waka Waka' song sung by Shakira has been accepted as the anthem of FIFA world cup 2010. Adidas is the main event sponsorer for FIFA 2010. Vodafone is the broadcast sponsorer. The others sponsorers are Coca-Cola, Emirates Airline, Hyundai, Sony, Anheuser-Busch, Avaya, Continental, Deutsche Telekom, Electronic Arts, Emirates, Fujifilm, Gillette, Kia Motors, McDonald's, Philips, Toshiba, Yahoo, MTN.

The FIFA World Cup fever has given push to awesome football through the years and will always keep doing it.

Getting wet in the rain

Everyone will agree with me that getting wet in the rain is like the most pleasurable thing in the world. But i dont know y so most people refrain themselves from just going out there when it pouring and getting wet in the rain.

Today after very long i got wet in the rain. Me and my friends got wet in the rain. We were running on the road screaming loud out of happiness. We made paper boats and let them in the water. It felt like we had become kids again. We played music and started dancing in the rain and clicked a lot of pics.

Then all of us came back home changed our clothes and started chit-chatting. Is there anything more pleasurable than having a cup of hot tea during the rainy season? We made tea and maggi and feasted on it.

I am already down with cold. Though some of us might fall ill tonight, the memories of the fun we had today will remain with us forever. After few years it is not the cold or fever that we are gona remember but the screaming, dancing, shouting and all the kiddish that we did today are gona keep us happy all our life. So guys just get out of your house and get wet in the rain and bring the child in you outside.

Live- in relationships

Live - in relationships are considered wrong as most Indians even today. Leave alone people living in rural areas, even urban crowd does not accept it.

Most people feel that in a live-in relationship there is no commitment and the chances of the couple living together life long is less. Where as in a marriage you give complete commitment to each other. If is so then why do we have divorces?

I appreciate Americans for one thing. They dont interfere into each other's personal life. Everyone in life should be given privacy and every person needs it. I completely support the idea of a live-in relationship and i feel no one has the right to interfere in any couple's life if they want to have a live-in.

There can be complete commitment even in a live-in relationship and it can go on forever. Whether it is a live-in relationship or marriage it finally depends on the couple and what they feel. If they want to maintain the relation forever then nothing else should matter.

Live-in relationships are slowly taking their place in the urban Indian society but its not seen with good eyes by most people.

I think its high time that Indians start accepting live-in relationships and become more broad minded.

AXN-So you think you can dance

'So you think you can dance' is an American dance reality show which is telecast in AXN. It is my personal favourite dance reality show. No other show till date has been able to give out as much talent as this one. The dancers are simply awesome and extremely talented and the way they groom themselves to each and every form of dance is just mind blowing.

It is one show where it is extremely competitive and the dancers are trained to perform so many variety of dance forms. They perform everything from Salsa, Jive, Hip Hop, B-Boying, Western, Ballroom dance and so many of forms that you wouldnt have heard of also.

I was watching this show on AXN just a few days back and i found something amazing. There was one dance that one pair of contestants had to perform on and it was a Bollywood routine. The pair performed a routine on a Bollywood song and they really did a great justice to it. I found it really amazing that the show is welcoming all kinds of dances. I really appreciate 'So you think you can dance' for bringing up dance talent and respecting the cultural dance of all the places around the world and bringing them together on one stage. It is really a great thing to do. The world has come even more closer because of this show. Kudooooooooos to 'So You Think You Can Dance' and AXN!!!

Eunuchs in India

Eunuchs in India are generally made fun off and most people dont consider them as part of their society. Most people are unaware of the fact that they are genetically born as eunuchs and they live a much tuffer life than a common man does.

As most people, when i was small even i used to make fun of eunuchs and also used to fear them. Once i have even fought with a eunuch. It is after i grew up that i realised that i had mis-interpreted them. People in our Indian society are so orthodox and most of them show disrespect to eunuchs. Children are imbibed with negative things about eunuchs from their childhood.

There are a lot of fake eunuchs who actually are not born genetically as a eunuch but they transform themselves into one by dressing up like them.

People's attitude towards eunuchs in India is gradually changing. Many of them are provided education and jobs. 'Sach ka Saamna' - a hindi reality show had a eunuch as one of the interviewee. A tamil show is conducted by a eunuch. It is great to see that eunuchs are slowly gaining importance in our society and they are getting the respect they deserve.

NOKIA handsets are the highest selling in India today. Though there are many telecom companies like Sony Ericsson, Samsung, Motorola, HTC, Apple, LG etc that have come up with handsets which give tuff competition to NOKIA, NOKIA handsets still remain the king.

The most important reason why NOKIA handsets sell more than any other handsets is because they have understood the mentality of Indian consumers. Their market research is very accurate and they make products according to the usage preference of people. Sony Ericsson handsets generally are better music phone than NOKIA handsets. Samsung handsets have better camera quality in comparison to NOKIA. i-touch phones are extremely stylish. The biggest advantage NOKIA has is that it makes the most durable handsets. Most Indian people prefer phones that can be used roughly. NOKIA handsets dont get a crack or it does not affected even if it falls down. They have very sturdy handsets and most Indians look for this as their make focus. Indian consumers are happy with a phone which will give decent features but it should last long even after harsh use. NOKIA makes sturdy handsets with decent features because of which it sells the most.

NOKIA has gained the trust of most Indian masses. It is my personal favorite brand of handsets and i own a NOKIA phone too. NOKIA is completely keeping up to its tagline 'CONNECTING PEOPLE' by really connecting everyone with each other.

Bharatnatyam

Bharatnatyam is a classical form of dance which originated in South India . In the initial years, basic steps called ADAVAS are taught. There are many items like Alarippu, Jathiswaram, Padams, Varnams, Swarajathi, Thillana and a lot more of them which are a combination of these adavas.

Most of the songs in this form of dance are spiritual in nature contaning stories of hindu gods which are expressed by performing them in the form of adavas and gestures. One of the most important part of Bharatnatyam dance is Hastas or Mudras which are hand gestures that are used to express feelings. The movement of the eyes and neck and facial expressions are a very important component of bharatnatyam.

Some of the items have more of adavas (steps) called jathis like thillana, jathiswaram, swarajathis etc. Some of the items which have a story to be conveyed are consist of gestures, facial expressions and eye movements. These include Krishna nee be gane baaro, Kaalai tuki aadum, Padams,shankari shankuru etc. and many more. There are some items which are formed by a combination of adavas called jathis and sahityam(lyrics of the song) through which the storyline of the song is expressed with the help of gestures and hand movements like varnams, kautwams. Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Sanskrit are traditionally used languages in Bharatanatyam.

A bharatnatyam programme always starts with a ganapati kautwam followed by allaripu, jathiswaram, varnam then there are some light dances like padams shabdams. The dance performance is always accompanied by carnatic (classical music).The accompaniments include a singer, a violinist, a mridangamist, flutist, nadaswaram player and veena vaadak (vainika). The last item of the programme is the thillana which is a very brisk and tiring dance and finally the mangalam which symbolises thanksgiving to God.

Arangetram - This is a stage performance given by a bharatnatyam dancer after she has learnt the dance for quite some years and is ready to perform on stage . It is very important for a dance student and gives her a lot of honour and she is blessed and gets an opportunity to portray her talent to the world.
Costumes are a very integral part that have to be looked upon in a dance performance. The costumes are very symbolic and it is generally a saree but tied in a different way so that the dancer has the flexibility to perform all the movements. They also symbolise our tradition and add beauty to the performer. Thus bharatnatyam is a very ancient form of dance. Even today it has the same respect and popularity from the time of the birth of the dance form and is also taken up as a profession by many people who have kept the dance alive till today and will do it forever.

Roadrash

Roadrash is the most catchy bike game ever. Its been my all time favorite racing game. I have a craze for racing games from my childhood. This is the first racing game i played as a kid and since then i am extremely in love with it. Even today when i play roadrash i am just into the game. I forget the whole world.

The game keeps you go gripped and stuck to your chair that it is impossible for you to get diverted and think of anything else.

Roadrash has many levels like they have different kind of roads like in the snow, valley, mountain area and many more. The competitors are really strong and it is challenging but fun to beat them.

You can kick your competitor riders and punch them also while riding. It is great fun. You can ride on the opposite side also though your not supposed to do it but rules are meant to be broken. You have a police inspector who comes to keep an eye on you but there are a lot of times when i kick him also. Sometimes he catches hold of you and puts you behind the bars but i escape most of the time.

Even though there are so many racing games that have come up roadrash is still and will always remain my personal favorite racing game.

Tom & Jerry cartoon

Tom & Jerry is the best ever cartoon i have seen till date. The concept is really funny and entertaining. A natural phenomenon of a cat catching a mouse is portrayed in its best form ever. Hats off to the creative guys who made this cartoon. I mean showing so many different ways of a cat catching a mouse is simply breathtaking.

There are many versions of Tom & Jerry that have come now. The best are the ones that are produced by Fred Quimby. It has the best animation, creativity and concepts.

A lot of human attributes are given to Tom and Jerry in the cartoon. Some instances like Tom playing a piano for a big programme and Jerry troubling him at that time, Jerry smacking Tom on his head and big boil coming up at that very instant, Tom eating turkey, Tom smoking, Tom flirting with female cats and the lost goes on and on. Its just hard to believe the extent of creative imagination and its execution in the cartoon.

Tom & Jerry has always had and still has the maximum viewer ship in the cartoon section. Elders are as much viewers of the cartoon as much as children are. Even people above the age of 60 years enjoy watching the cartoon. It is the most entertaining cartoon ever.

I mean thinking of creative ways to entertain people through a cartoon and keeping it consistent in each and every episode is not a joke. It requires highly creative brains.

Tom & Jerry has been the most popular cartoon and i bet many will agree with me that it will remain the best forever.

Delhi Metro rail

Delhi Metro rail is one of the biggest development India has seen in modern times. Who says India is not a developed country? Only a developed country can afford a big network of public transport like 'Metro'. Travelling in the Delhi Metro is an awesome experience.

I had been to Delhi a few years back and the thing i loved the most there is the Metro rail. It is the most well organised public transport in India. I was amazed when i used the metro rail. Everything is so disciplined.

When u enter the station, you have to buy a coupon which is your ticket and swap them before you enter the platform. No T.T.R.'s and no ticketless travelling. The train just looks so awesome. The platforms are extremely clean. The trains have automatic doors and they close before moving. So there is no risk of people hanging on the footboard while travelling. The train is completely air conditioned and before every station arrives . When the train moves there is no much shaking of the train and it just feels like a very smooth ride. Most of the Metro tracks are rail bridges or underground tracks and it feels like your gliding in the sky. The seats are arranged in a very spacious manner and there is enough place for standees. The trains look really classy and makes you feel as if your in a foreign country.

The people of Delhi have co-operated a lot while the metro rail was being built. Their efforts and co-operation has contributed such a great deal to India and uplifted our country's name.

CHETAN BHAGAT novels

Chetan Bhagat is my favorite writer. Thanks to him, i have developed a habit of reading novels. I used to always feel that reading novels are very boring. One of my friend forced me to read this novel written by Chetan Bhagat. I started reading his novel and trust me they are awesome.

In 2 states, Chetan Bhagat in a very humorous and entertaining way has portrayed what all a couple has to go through to do an inter-caste marriage in India. Even today, most parents in India are against inter-caste love marriages. In a very diplomatic way he has pointed out the reality that a couple has to face to convince each other's family in an inter-caste marriage. This novel is based on his true-life story and he has narrated what hindrances he and his girlfriend had to face to convince each other's family for their marriage as it was an inter-caste marriage. Couples will be able to relate better to this novel.

His books are an awesome and easy read books. You can relate your life with the storyline of all his 4 books till date. 'Five Point Someone' is the awesomest college life book i have ever read. Chetan Bhagat has described college life in such an interesting way that every college student would like doing all the pranks and things the protagonist (Chetan Bhagat himself) in the novel has done during his college life. It is a must read for every college student.

'One night in a Call Centre' is a decent book. He has described life in a call centre.

'3 Mistakes of my Life' will make you awestruck when you know of the 3 mistakes the protagonist has done in his life. You might never wana do something like that in your life. This is also a very gripping book and pretty much entertaining.

Chetan Bhagat books are like an addiction. You start reading a book and i can bet you wont feel like closing it. There have been times when i have read his book all night till i finish the novel. He keeps such a suspense after every incident that you will be forced to read the next one and the next one and next one and it goes on.....

So guys who havent read his novels yet, just go down there and get one copy of every novel for yourself. I can promise that you will enjoy every novel to the fullest.

One article is not enough to talk about the 'Baadshah of Bollywood' our one and only Shahrukh Khan. He is considered as the most popular and successful actor in Bollywood at present. Shah Rukh made his debut with film Deewana in 1992 and since then has ruled the box-office with many successful flicks like Darr, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Kal Ho Naa Ho, My name is Khan, Chak De India and many more. SRK has won 13 Filmfare Awards, seven of which he won in the Best Actor category.

It is difficult to say who is the number one star in Bollywood but in the world of TV endorsements Shahrukh Khan is the King.

He endorses the maximum number of brands in Bollywood like Belmonte, Nokia, Dish TV, Sunfeast, i10 and the list is endless. Its amazing that even though he endorses numerous brands simultaenously all of them are big successes. He is the perfect brand ambassador any company will grab immediately. He is the 'King of Endorsements'. People blindly follow him and he still remains an icon for the masses. Shahrukh stole the numero uno position from Saif Ali Khan who was the king of the Ad world in 2007.

He made his presence in the cricket world by associating himself with the 'Kolkata Knight Riders' during IPL.

He has branched out into film production and has proven himself as one of the best host for popular TV shows like Kaun Banega Crorepati and many more.

He has proved to be the Best Entertainer today. Hats off to Shahrukh Khan for his excellent achievements. He is a 'one man ruler'. God Bless him to be the 'King Khan' of Bollywood forever and ever.

My Tattooing Experience

As a kid i used to see a lot of guys riding huge bikes and tattoos in their hands and around the neck and all and i was really amazed by those tattoos. They used to really catch my eyes. Like many other youngsters even i had a craze for tattoo but i was too young for it. My entry into college life opened the doors for me to tattoo my body.

Tattooing was popular among many ethnic minorities in China since ancient time. Earlier, tattoos were associated with criminals, gangsters, barbarians. But today tattoos have evolved as a style statement for the youth. Its the ‘in thing’ now.

Though i was excited about getting myself tattooing there was a fear in me. I have heard many people saying that tattooing hurts, sometimes you might start bleeding, or your skin and it is quite painful. The first time i went to get my tattoo done i had mixed feelings. Though i was excited about getting me tattooed there was a fear in me. I got a tattoo done on my left shoulder. It was really painful when he was drawing the tattoo but when i came back home and looked at it all my pain just disappeared. I felt so awesome. He had made the sexiest tattoo design ever. It is really a great experience that everyone should try.

Tattooing has become a big business today. A lot of youth today are crazy about tattooing. Tattooing is a profession in itself and is done by professional tattoo artists and the income is also very good. One can find tattoo parlours at many places and those tattoo artists make awesomely creative tattoo designs. It is a very nice thing that tattooing which is existing from the primitive years is now being recognized and accepted by common people and is given great importance. It gives a chance for people to show their creativity.

Shin Chan cartoon - impact on children

Shin Chan, a Japanese cartoon has gained great viewership in India especially after it is being telecast in hindi. The character has gained great popularity and boomed the TRP of Hungama channel. Although Shin Chan cartoon is very entertaining for children and they find his pranks very funny but on the flip side many times it also passes a negative message to them.

Shin Chan plays extreme pranks in the cartoon. He flirts with his teachers and other ladies which is a wrong message portrayed in the cartoon. He talks with disrespect to some of his professors and elders. He denies to do any kind of work that his mom tells him to do and he is also shown as doing destructive pranks. All these things should not be done by children. Some people might argue saying that it is just a cartoon and the pranks shown in them should not be taken seriously and should be regarded as pure entertainment. But the only issue we have is children don’t understand that it is just a cartoon and they have a tendency to imitate whatever they see.

In my opinion, the makers of the cartoon can keep the concept as it is but just make it a little more sober and portray things that will help children in real life. They should give a deeper thought to the character and show Shin Chan doing good stuff so that the popularity of the cartoon is maintained and children imitate the right things in life and they do not get diverted.

Most companies today use brand ambassadors in their advertisements to make their ads different and popularize their product. The image of the brand ambassador portrays the personality of the product. Brand value of the ambassador is added to the brand he/she is promoting. When people see big names promoting the brand they follow their favorites and buy the product.

Importance of Internships for college students

An internship is an awesome experience that every student should have during their college life. In today’s world practical experience and knowledge is given more importance than bookish or theoretical knowledge. An internship provides practical and hands-on experience of the theoretical knowledge. It is a learning process.

When we study a subject we visualize the kind of work we have to do in that profession but a lot of times the way things work in reality are quite different. I did an internship in Public Relations (PR) after my 1^st year graduation and in the next semester I had PR as a subject. I bet that i understood the subject better than the others in the class because I knew how things really work and could relate in a much better way to the subject.

So an internship can help in understanding a work profile in a much real and better way. It is an opportunity to learn how to work in a professional setup. In a vast field like mass media where there are so many career options, a student by interning in some fields can understand how the work is like in every profile and therefore can have a better idea of choosing a profession best suited for him. An internship helps to groom a student and gives him an experience of work culture and corporate culture.

So guys it is my personal suggestion with experience J that an internship will surely benefit and its a very different experience from our cool college life to a disciplined office life.

An internship is the first stepping-stone in the real world.

Voting system in reality shows – right or wrong?

Want to win a talent show? Make yourself extremely popular, become a politician and ask for votes...

There has been a surge in the number of reality shows in India and every show that exists and the ones that are coming up have a public voting system. many times it so happens that the contestant who is popular gets the maximum number of votes while some other contestant might me more deserving.

A contestant after the performance has to become a politician and ask for votes.

If these shows adhere to public voting then why do they even have such professional judges? I mean singing, dancing, acting, comedy cannot be understood by every layman. A person not having deep knowledge about the particular talent cannot judge who is the best amongst the lot. It becomes a favoritism vote rather than the most deserving contestant vote. These reality shows start their voting lines when the stage rounds begin. Ideally these are the levels where all the contestants are filtered and the best ones are chosen. This is the level where the judges should decide the best contestant and not the public because everyone is awesome and there are just small mistakes that they make and these professionals can understand them better.

Reality shows have a voting system so that they can earn money from the votes as they spend so much also. They have so much of capital expenditure so it is quite obvious that they need a way to earn them back and make huge profit. Voting is the most profitable way.

It is very difficult to say whether voting is right or wrong. It is right for the TV channel that conducts the show because they gotta earn.

In my personal opinion, i feel it is not needed if its a real talent hunt show so that the most deserving contestant chosen by professionals gets the title.

Nariman point- the most expensive place in Mumbai

Nariman point is the most expensive place in Mumbai. It is Mumbai's premier business district and was named after Khursheed Framji Nariman, a Parsi visionary & former corporator, who proposed to reclaim the land from the sea in the year 1940. Nariman Point is situated on the southern end of Marine Drive. It houses headquarters of India's premier business houses.

The world famous Oberoi and Trident 5-star hotels are located in Nariman Point. It is regarded as the Manhattan of Mumbai. It is the main financial district of Mumbai where most of the banks, financial services and brokerage companies - both Indian and international are situated. Vidhan Bhavan - the political headquarters Maharashtra is situated here.

It is hub for a lot of media firms. Marine Drive adjoining the Nariman point is a very beautiful seaface. A lot of Bollywood films have scenes that are shot at marine drive and nariman point.

Nariman point is a place just too expensive for a middle class person to live. Even a higher middle class person can find it expensive. There is no doubt that the place provides the best facilities but some things are unnecessarily expensive.

Nariman point is a place where every Mumbaiite aspires to work.

Bret 'The Hitman' Hart made his first appearance on raw for the first time in twelve years on Jan 4th. His comeback came as a shock to many in and around the squared circle. After the infamous incident at montreal in 1997, more commonly know as the montreal screw job, many thought Bret would never joins hands with Vince again. The Excellence of Execution was involved in the infamous 'Montreal Screwjob' that year which saw him controversially lose the heavyweight championship to Shawn Michaels after legitimately not being told the planned finish of the match.

Bret Hart had been a big name in the WWE since joining forces with his brother Jim 'The Anvil' Neidhart and manager Jimmy Hart to create The Hart Foundation. After claiming the tag titles twice Bret moved into the singles division where he became a 2 time Intercontinental and 5 time World Heavyweight Champion. On Jan 4th, RAW began with a video promoting the return of WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart, showing clips of his various accolades during his time in the WWE. The video ends with clips from the infamous “Montreal Screwjob” before showing the confrontation between Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels from last week where HBK told Vince to bring Bret back to WWE this week.

Feeling light

After a very long time, I'm feeling very very very light at heart. I don't really know why I'm feeling that way. I'm also surprised about the fact that it's lasting for such a long time. Normally all the happiness and sadness in my life will be short lived. I don't know the reason for this anomaly. I feel good and I want to feel this way for a long time to come.
